VERNIER MICROSCOPE (TRAVELING MICROSCOPE)   (1178)

Horizontal and vertical scales of stainless steel. The cast iron base is fitted with leveling screws with the top duly machined over which slides a metal carriage. Slide can be clamped at any position by means of clamping screw. Fine adjustment for final reading is with a micrometer screw. A vertical slide operating in a similar way is fitted on the horizontal carriage. The microscope with rack and pinion is fitted on this vertical carriage and can be clamped in a vertical or horizontal position. Stage for placing objects for measurement is fitted with perspex plate. Achromatic lenses have been used. Slides travel 165 mm horizontally and 140mm vertically. Scales are accurately divided. Vernier reading 0.02 or 0.001mm. The unit is packed in wooden polished case.




TRAVELING MICROSCOPE   (1179)

A heavy cast iron base fitted with leveling screws top machined over which slides a metal carriage which can be clamped at desired position. The stage carries a vernier that travels over a stainless steel scale graduated in mm 0 to 16.5cms. A gunmetal pillar fixed to the stage has an embedded S.S. Scale graduated 0 to 15cms and carries a vertical traveling carriage with vernier. Horizontal stage for placing objects is fitted with milky plate. The microscopic tube on vertical traveling carriage is focused by rack line graticule. Vernier read- in .01 mm supplied in wooden case. VERNIER MICROSCOPE, COORDINATE   (1180)

With horizontal and vertical scale both reading to 0.001mm. Horizontal scale 0 to 170 x 0.05 mm and 0 to 100 x 0.5mm vertical scale, both of which can be easily read to 0.001 using the double length vernier. A coarse adjustment and a fine adjustment The microscope body may be rotated through 180 deg. And the draw tube extended to enable the telescope objective accessory to be fitted. MICROSCOPE STANDARD   (1181)

In this microscope a dovetailed cast iron carriage slides on a heavy cast iron base. In the carriage a locking arrangement is provided to rest coarse motion when fine motion screw is used. By successively locking and unlocking, motion in the total traverse can be provided by the slow motion screw. Two reamed holes are provided with clamping screws to hold the microscope in either vertical or horizontal plane. Horizontal movement 160mm. Vertical movement can be kept vertically. Least Count 0.01mm, Working distance 50mm.
Eyepiece 10X Ramsden, 90º cross line reticle,  Objective 30X of FL 15mm.

NEWTON'S RING MICROSCOPE   (1182)

This is a compact instrument with full arrangement for conducting Newton's ring apparatus. A standard microscope with 30X magnification is provided with a rotatable cross-line and the eye piece can be focused at the individuals requirements. The microscope tube unit can be raised or lowered and clamped at any desired position. The focusing of the microscope is through Rack and Pinion. The longitudinal movement of the microscope saddle for the purpose of measurement of the rings is done by rotating the drum provided. The 26mm movement can be read by the scale and divided drum to 0.001cm. This set consists of one optical flat glass and one plano-convex lens (100mm radius) arranged inside a metal case resting over the stage of the instrument which is adjustable for the alignment of the measuring line. The condenser lens is provided infront of the reflector. In case the ring set is removed from the stage, the instrument can be used as a simple compact measuring microscope. The whole instrument is supplied in a box.


READING TELESCOPE   (1183)

The Telescope itself is fitted with an achromatic objective of F.L. 178mm with clear aperture of 23mm and 8X Ramsden eye piece with a 90º cross line reticle.

The focusing is done by rack and pinion mechanism, with a range from 1000mm to infinity. The arrangement is mounted on a steel pillar and fitted on a heavy cast iron base.



STANDARD READING TELESCOPE WITH SCALE   (1184)

The telescope is mounted on a specially designed carriage with support ring to stop abrupt falling. The carriage is fitted with two adjustable screws for precise vertical and horizontal positioning. This arrangement is mounted on a 25mm dia, 450mm. long steel pillar, fitted on a cast iron base with leveling screws. A scale holder is provided with scale.

SPECTROMETER   (1186)

The base integral with collimator tube support, carried the swinging telescope arm provided on a bearing with spring loaded and thrust plates, this type of bearings eliminates any slack which would otherwise develop with wear. The collimator and telescope tubes are one-piece precision casting in light alloy, concealed helical-action focusing devices are provided. The collimator slit with spring-loaded jaws is of a new and robust design which ensures retention of the initial accuracy. The graduated prism table support, 18cm dia, is divided in degrees, the vernier, reading of 0.1degrees, is fixed to the telescope arm. Large diameter clamping knobs are fitted for movement control and fine adjustment is provided for the telescope.
All bright parts are chromium plated with the base and tubes in synthetic (hammer) finish.


SPECTROMETER   (1187)

Comprises a collimator tube with adjustable slit and a rotatable telescopic tube. Graduated circular scale 127mm dia fixed to the table double ended vernier to read to 1 min. of arc. is attached to telescopic tube. Both the tubes have fine adjustment screws and release of clamping screws enables coarse adjustment by hand. Telescope and collimator are fitted with 32mm clear aperture achromatic glasses and have rack and pinion focusing. Telescope fitted with 10x Ramsden eyepiece and a cross line graticule. The prism table marked with lines to assist positioning of prism has interchangeable clamping unit for prism and diffraction gratings.
Complete in polished wooden case.


POLARIMETER   (1188)

For the measurement of angle of rotation of optically active substance in solution i.e. angle through which the  plane of polarised light is rotated on passing through a specified length of solution of known concentration. Specific rotation may then be determined. The circular head is attached near the analyser and vernier movement on the scale enables the reading of optical rotation accurate up-to the accuracy of 0.1.
Soleil's Bi-Quartz Laurents half shade device which makes the instrument accurate and simple for use with white light (day light) or sodium light. The polarimeter tubes made from Borosilicate glass with fittings at both ends. The tube end covers with glass round disc, optically true with rubber washers to make it leakproof.

LIGHT BOX AND OPTICAL SET   (1258-A)

This kit is very useful for reflection, refraction and colour mixing experim ents. The light box consists of a light source (12V, 24W lamp), producing convergent, divergent or parallel beam. On one end, an adjustable convex lens (for parallel beam) and on the other end, a triple aperture system for colour mixing experiments (lateral aperture are provided with adjustable hinged mirror). All apertures in the box are provided with vertical channels to hold slit plates and colour filters. ROTATABLE OPTICAL DISC HARTLEY'S   (1277)

A 300mm diameter white painted steel disc marked from 0-360º at every 1º, with centre mark, on a stable cast iron base. The main disc and the lamp house (with 12V, 24W bulb) can be rotated and held in any desired position. With the lamp house, a rotatable disc with single, double, triple and quadruple slits and with adjustable lens carrier with lens for divergent, parallel or convergent light beams is provided. Optical elements provided for reflection are 50x25mm plain glass mirror and a polished plated metal cylindrical mirror. Optical elements for refraction are semicircular, biconvex, biconcave, right angle prism and a rapezoidal acrylic blocks. These optical elements have powerful magnets attached for fixing of blocks to disc.
